Kassiopeia’s hotels, several restaurants and Levi Summit Event Center were awarded the Nordic Swan Ecolabel in early 2024. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel criteria guide the ongoing environmental work at our ecolabelled locations. What is the Nordic Swan Ecolabel?
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is awarded to products and services that meet the applicable criteria. The criteria take into account the most significant environmental impacts of each product or service category throughout its life cycle.
The four key focus areas of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel criteria are climate, biodiversity, the circular economy and chemicals.
In Finland, the Nordic Swan Ecolabel is awarded and administered by Ecolabelling Finland.

At our Nordic Swan Ecolabelled locations, among other things:
- waste is sorted, waste volumes are monitored, and measures are taken to reduce food waste
- restaurants offer vegetarian options and organic products in accordance with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel criteria
- chemicals used for cleaning, dishwashing and laundry are selected and used in accordance with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel requirements for our locations.
- energy and water consumption at our hotels is monitored and must meet the limit values set by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel criteria
- employees are trained in the Nordic Swan Ecolabel requirements and the environmental practices of each location.
