Samiland – Discover Sami Culture atop Levi Summit

Step into Samiland, part of the UNESCO Observatory Cultural Village programme. This immersive exhibition unfolds the rich history, culture and mythology of the Sami people across its 500 m² indoor and 10 000 m² outdoor areas.

Inside, you’ll learn about the distinct lifestyles of the Skolt and Mountain Sami, ancient mythic characters, and traditional livelihoods. Outdoors, explore authentic Sami buildings and get an up-close look at reindeer herding traditions.

Visit between November and April and experience a true highlight: feed the reindeer by hand. Just buy a bag of lichen from Cafe Spiella.

Your ticket includes a hot drink, and optional guided tours are available. Choose a standard guided tour or enjoy a cultural performance featuring traditional Sami joik singing by guide Ante Aikio.
